Sun Microsystems

Sun Microsystems is one of the largest IT companies in the world, providing a variety of products and services to the business and consumer sectors globally.

Objective: Sun Microsystems needed to provide completely custom browser interfaces to their corporate e-learning system in 6 different languages.  The customizations had to be done to exacting standards for clients such as the Canadian Department of National Defence, Hudson's Bay Company, and Sun's in-house e-learning system.

Solution: DJiNN Software Inc. worked with Sun's internal HR group and the internal IT group to modify their existing systems.  The projects were so successful that DJiNN became the preferred partner for e-learning system customization.

DJiNN continued to work with Sun to develop a new architecture based on the JADE web management system that would put all customization work into the hands of the client relationship managers.  This solution was bundled with hardware sales to the Canadian market.

Technology: The following technologies are employed on Sun projects:

• Oracle RDBMS (database)
• JSP and JavaScript presentation layer (web pages)
• BEA Weblogic
• IPlanet Webserver
• JADE web management system was employed and bundled with later projects

Project Statistics: Work performed on this project encompassed several design / build phases and included various smaller projects in support of client system implementations.  Work was always completed on time and on budget.
